Your experience and expertise is needed to create an Urban Health Policy Agenda addressing racial/ethnic health disparities
In late June, a meeting of community agencies, the Minnesota Department of Health, Office of Minority and Multicultural Health; the Saint Paul-Ramsey County Department of Public Health; Hennepin County Human Services Department of Public Health Protection and Promotion, and the Minneapolis Department of Health and Family Support, began the discussion of an Urban Health Policy Agenda to eliminate racial/ethnic health disparities and identified six areas of concern:
… FUNDING FOR COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS
… COMPLEXITY AND ACCESS TO HEALTH CARE
… HEALTH PROMOTION AND CULTURAL WISDOM
… CULTURALLY SENSITIVE DATA COLLECTION
… WORKFORCE DIVERSITY
… TEEN ISSUES - PREGNANCY, PARENTING AND SUPPORT
The purpose of the meeting in August is to begin the action work to create a plan for the next year. We want your participation and would encourage you to invite others who might be interested in being part of creating the agenda.
Please respond to this invitation by emailing Pamela.Moore@co.hennepin.mn.us or calling Pam Moore at 612-348-9925 by August 20, 2004.
