The kung fu comedy genre is a wild mix of circus and theatre, acrobatics and fresh, fun, and outrageous martial arts sequences, and a collision of the traditional and the modern to boot.
Also many good kung fu actors, such as Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, and Yuen Biao were all trained under the Chinese Opera. Jackie Chan's Drunken Master and Sammo Hung's Enter the Fat Dragon will be shown at the Showcase.
