Entering the millennium, besides successful male comedians, many female comedians were coming into the scene. Such trend pushed the romance comedy genre to the peak, due to the superb performance of actors and actresses. Many contained traditional plots, such as the paring of rich with the poor, or the "odd couple" gag that was modernized to employ props such as the Internet, cell phones, and the mise-en-scene to create such comedies.
Many top actresses were riding on the comedy wave, such as Sandra Ng, Sammi Cheng, and Miriam Yeung.
The Showcase will feature their best 2000s comedy works, such as Sandra's Golden Chicken, Sammi's Yesterday Once More, and Miriam's Love Undercover. Also featured is the Director Team of Johnnie To and Wai Ka-fai's light romance comedy Turn Left, Turn Right.
