92 Legendary La Rose Noire

92 Legendary La Rose Noire (Hong Kong, 1992, LD, 100 min.)

Directed by Jeffrey Lau, starring Tony Leung Ka Fai, Teresa Mo, Maggie Siu, Fung Bo-Bo.

Showtime:
1 p.m., 5/20 (Friday)
U of MN, Willey Hall Basement ( Westbank Union Program Hall)

In this satirical action film, a frustrated writer of popular romances  (Liang Jing) partners with a dimwitted detective (Tony Leung) and the two wind up face-to-face with the legendary but now retired Rose Noire (Fung Bo-Bo) and her eccentric, and perhaps a bit too enthusiastic, sidekick. Their secluded mansion, with its secret passageways, trick staircases, disappearing walls, and magic potions, will be the center of a series of ever-escalating antics and a comedy of errors.
